Selly Sparkled Through the Winter

In the bleak midwinter, the neighbourhood illuminated their community spirit with Selly Sparkle; fairy lights, tinsel and baubles adorned windows and brought a twinkle of joy during a difficult end to the year. Despite the isolation of the times, cheerful chatter about sparklers, and upcoming festivities, brought a prevailing atmosphere of warmth to our chilly doorsteps.

Many had gone to good efforts with their decorations; a progressive nativity scene, festive snowflakes, and an abundance of rainbow-coloured lights were amongst the displays. There were even a few windows that would rival Kirstie Allsopp’s homemade endeavours! The festive sparkles brought a spirit of togetherness and collective enjoyment. As a famous fictional wizard once said, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”.
